The cuisine of Wassim is classic and modern, emancipated and unpredictable. A sophisticated union of the pure style of the nouvelle cuisine and the dizzying and complex deconstructions of the postmodern cuisine – with digressions to the detailed, slight minimalism and raw primordial forces of the new Nordic cuisine and the very advanced techniques and surprising compositions.
Restaurant Frederikshøj houses a playful high-level gourmet cuisine. It is a cuisine where Wassim unites an unpretentious love of food with creativity and the very best seasonal ingredients.
The point of departure of the gastronomy is the classical French cuisine with inspiration from all of Europe. The servings presented in the menus are detailed, light and elegant.
The gourmet restaurant is located in a brand new extension to Frederikshøj with a panoramic view over the restaurant’s own park, Thor’s Forest and the Bay of Aarhus.
The gourmet restaurant seats 40 guests.
In terms of the design and interior decoration, the style is influenced by modern Scandinavian minimalism. Simple, warm, functional and comfortable.
The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 18:00 to 24:00. Parties and functions can be held on any day of the week, by appointment. The restaurant is non-smoker.
Skovsalen is our largest room with a direct view of Thor’s Forest. The room holds up to 80 people, seated at round tables. Skovsalen can be extended to 120 persons, by opening the large folding doors to the restaurant.
The room is decorated in Scandinavian style, with contrasting elements, such as white tablecloths and designer chairs in black leather. Together with the flames of the fireplace, the light oak tree floor invokes a pleasant warmth.
The Veranda was the old terrace of Frederikshøj, which has later been roofed and the tall glass façade lets in the view of the Bay of Aarhus.
A new glass section in the old main building facing Oddervej constitutes the main entrance to Restaurant Frederikshøj.
From there you enter the former tavern room, which has been converted into the Lounge of Restaurant Frederikshøj.
After the dinner guests can enjoy coffee and avec in our newly renovated Lounge.

Restaurant Frederikshøj is probably better known for our food than for our meeting and conferencing facilities. Even so, we host quite a number of meetings and conferences each year.
The combination of good food, professional service and new, beautiful rooms is a popular one. We are able to adapt our rooms to create the ideal setting for meeting with 10 to 60 participants.
We are happy to provide a flip-over, whiteboard and Internet connection for your meeting without additional charges. Other equipment can be rented or brought along by you.

Despite being a young man, Wassim Hallal has already unlocked his brilliant talent.
Among other things as chef in competitions and head chef at the now defunct Restaurant WH in Trige, north of Aarhus, whose visually superior, decadent and very perfectionistic gourmet cuisine swept all the Danish food critics off their feet with rapture.
